Moments From 2016

I only recently learned how to search Gmail by date range, meaning that I was able to find emails from 10+ years ago. Among a sea of Forever 21 sales, FAFSA reminders that I ignored because I ended up not going to college, and Bernie Sanders campaign mail, I uncovered several emails I had sent to myself. What was in these emails? A bunch of old photos of 17 year old me that I had not seen in years. They were all from 2016, most of them from my final days as a high school senior, and a few of them from the summer right after graduating.

Beware: photos of myself pre-bangs and nose piercing ahead.

School Photoshoot

I took photography classes at school, and much like the rest of my academic career, I did not take them seriously at all. Living in such a boring place, I never felt like I had ANYTHING to take pictures of, so filling up an entire roll of film for my assignments felt impossible.

I still have this skirt!

I was posing for a different camera?

I'm mad that none of these photos show my shoes better. I was wearing my knock-off Jeffrey Campbell Litas from H&M.

Pretty sure I was singing and dancing to a Marina and the Diamonds song in this one.

Field Trip to the Zoo

The photography class took a field trip to the zoo. I do not have a single photo of any of the animals.

Me looking at giraffes.

I was obsessed with this jacket. I had told my mom that I wanted to get an oversized denim jacket, then she pulled this one out of her closet for me to steal. Perfectly oversized, perfectly distressed. The collar was completely ripped off in the back.

Random Selfie

Post-Graduation

Selfies in an NYC bathroom, featuring the infamous Snapchat dog filter.

As if this pink tattoo choker has not been seen in this blog post enough already.

I loved the pastel purple lipstick trend.

Forever 21 in the 2010s, I will always miss you...

...no matter how messy you always were.

A few more dog filter selfies to finish off this post.
