Going Shopping

Image
Back at the mall, in the H&M changing room to take my mirror selfies. Since I hardly shop for brand new non-secondhand clothes anymore, I usually only leave H&M with a pair of socks or tights. But this time, I actually found a cute pair of striped pajama pants that I really loved, and they were 100% cotton. So I thought, why not? Pajamas are something I always buy new anyway. Maybe that sounds silly considering all of my outfits now are made up of secondhand clothes, but I can't really explain why pajamas are different for me. That's just how my brain works. Sweater: Alexa Chung for Madewell  Shorts: Forever 21 Leggings: Forever 21 Boots: Saint Laurent Bag: Proenza Schouler Bracelet: Valentino This sweater is so cute, I absolutely love the color. Unfortunately its is incredibly itchy! The black collared shirt I wore underneath was not just a stylistic choice, but it also acted as a barrier between my skin and the itchy material. The baby blue color paired with the...

Tumblr Style Icon: Madison Montgomery (+ the sequin top she wore that I found on Poshmark)

Image
A few months ago, I rewatched the first three seasons of American Horror Story, and it confirmed that Coven is still my favorite. If you were on Tumblr around the time that it was airing, then you most likely were reblogging iconic lines from Emma Roberts' character, Madison Montgomery, in GIF form ("surprise, bitch"). Just as iconic as her quotes were her outfits. Lots of faux fur, chokers, bandage dresses, platform stilettos, leather mini skirts, and knee socks. Teenage me wanted to be her so badly, and I honestly still do. I will forever be coveting the Herve Leger metallic bandage dress she wore to the frat party. It was also worn by Effy Stonem in Skins: Fire, so it's double iconic. Until I find that dress online somewhere for a reasonable price, I can be happy that I found the exact same sequin top worn by Madison in the Coven season finale! It's from the brand Pins and Needles by Urban Outfitters, and I got it on Poshmark for $17. I even have the perfect ...

A Grey Day in NYC

Image
I wanted to do a quick post about what I wore the other day when I went to New York to see a taping of Late Night With Seth Meyers. These were the only shots I was able to get of my outfit before I had to run for my bus. In this photo here I look about as moody as the weather was that day. I know most people would be upset about a cloudy 50F day in late April, but as someone who hates heat, I appreciated it. Jacket: Arizona Jean Co. Skirt:  Alexa Chung for AG Jeans Top: Jones New York Shoes: Clarks Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim I knew this would be one of my last opportunities to wear my army green jacket before it gets too hot to wear any jacket at all, and the big pockets were perfect since the bag I chose for the day couldn't hold everything I needed. This 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli mini satchel is now my favorite crossbody bag. Maybe one of my favorite bags in general, it's so cute!! Even though it had been a while since I wore my Alexa Chung for AG Jeans denim skirt, it's still o...

I Went to a Taping of Late Night With Seth Meyers!

Image
On Thursday, I finally got to do something I've wanted to do for 12 years: seeing Late Night With Seth Meyers in person! I've been a fan of Seth since I was 14 when I first watched him as the host of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. It was always my favorite part of every episode, and while I was sad when he left SNL (and honestly lost interest in the show after he left because every other cast member I liked had already left too), I was obviously very excited that he would be hosting his own show. I always hoped that one day I'd be able to go to a taping of Late Night. It took me a very long time, but last month I requested a ticket, and I got in! This wasn't my first time going to a taping of a late night show. A few years ago I got to see The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and it was such an amazing time, but I think the whole experience of going to 30 Rockefeller Plaza made Seth Meyers an even cooler event. In addition to the ones I've already mentioned...
