One of my favorite things to collect? 10-20 year old copies of Nylon magazine.
I wish that I'd be able to proudly say that I've actually had these magazines for 10-20 years, after receiving them in my mailbox via subscription or bought on the newsstands, but I was mostly only able to flip through Nylon whenever I was lucky enough to come across a copy in a library, hair salon waiting area, or while sitting on the floor in front of a magazine rack in a drugstore with no actual intention of buying the magazine. I've spent the past couple of years with a "nylon magazine" saved search on every resale site so I can always be ready to buy a copy from someone ready to part with their collection, allowing me to be inspired by the incredible fashion and articles from years ago. Getting a 2009 issue of Nylon in my mailbox from an eBay seller in 2026 is the closest I can get to being subscribed to the magazine before they went out of print.
I am going to begin a series here on this blog of Nylon magazine flip-throughs, where I will share some of my favorite pages and photos from each individual issue I have. But for today, I just want to share the entire collection I've accumulated so far! I'm always on the lookout for more, and there are many specific issues that have been on my mental wishlist for a while. As long as it's reasonably priced and from 2015 or before (I'm not a big fan of the cover shoot style change that happened sometime in 2016), I will be adding it to my stack.
